CHAUTAUQUA - Founded in 19th century America, Chautauqua is an adult education experiment that brings together the arts & faith during a summer-long “experiment.” The 10:45 a.m. Lecture Series is the core of the Chautauqua program with leading national speakers on the most important ideas of our time including religious figures, community leaders and scientists. Religion, of the "interfaith" fashion is ever-present at Chautauqua but does not dominate.

It is the “Lived Tradition” of making religion a part of your daily interfaith life experience integrated with the creations and lives of the artist. The annual fine arts competitive with $2,500 in prizes will celebrate its 54th year this summer. Located on the shore of Chautauqua Lake in the southwestern corner of New York state, this 250-acre community is much more than a vacation sampling arts and religion but has been described as “a wholly spiritual experience” and “infused with beauty.” (Plan Your Visit: June 25 – August 28, 2011 or view it on PBS)
